We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious, polite and well mannered Traffic Controller to join our for full time work. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and productive movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites and roadwork areas. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Direct traffic flow at construction sites, ensuring the safety of workers and the public.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians to provide explicit instructions.
- Monitor site conditions and report any hazards or issues to supervisors.
- Assist in paving and building operations as needed, utilizing heavy equipment when qualified.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations during roadwork activities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while managing challenging situations in office.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Traffic Controller or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills,
both verbal and written.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- Must be able to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license may be required depending on the job site location.
- A Traffic Control Person card will be required before employment can commence.
- Ability to commute/ drive will be viewed as a plus

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
