Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trim Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in finish carpentry and interior trim installation, with a focus on producing clean, precise, high-quality results.
This role is primarily focused on residential and renovation projects involving doors, baseboards, casing, crown moulding, wall treatments, cabinetry, built-ins, and other custom finish carpentry work.
Duties
- Read and interpret construction drawings, measurements, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install interior trim accurately and efficiently.
- Install baseboards, door casing, window casing, crown moulding, shoe moulding, and other decorative trim.
- Install interior doors, jambs, hardware, locks, and related components.
- Complete panel moulding, wainscoting, feature walls, shiplap, and other decorative wall treatments.
- Install cabinetry, shelving, built-ins, closet systems, benches, and custom millwork.
- Perform accurate mitre cuts, coping, scribing, and detailed finish work.
- Repair or replace damaged trim and finish carpentry components during renovation and restoration projects.
- Use nail guns, mitre saws, table saws, track saws, jigsaws, routers, sanders, and other carpentry tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain consistent reveals, level lines, tight joints, and professional finished appearances.
- Perform light caulking, wood filling, sanding, and preparation work when required.
- Coordinate with other trades and team members to ensure trim installations are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all job-site safety procedures and company standards.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Trim Carpenter, Finish Carpenter, or similar role.
- Solid experience installing baseboards, casing, interior doors, and crown moulding.
- Experience with panel moulding, wainscoting, built-ins, cabinetry, and custom trim is strongly preferred.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install materials with minimal waste.
- Strong understanding of mitres, coping, scribing, reveals, spacing, and finish carpentry techniques.
- Comfortable using professional carpentry hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to identify and work around uneven walls, floors, ceilings, and existing construction conditions.
- Experience working in residential renovations and occupied homes is an asset.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely lift and handle doors, trim, sheet goods, tools, and other construction materials.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are preferred.
- Own tools are considered an asset.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in finish carpentry and understands that small details matter. The right candidate should be reliable, efficient, professional, and capable of producing clean, consistent trim work across a variety of residential projects. Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
