We are seeking a motivated and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and freight documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers,
warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep the vehicle in optimal condition.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely for loading and unloading cargo when required.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid Class 1 license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts and other loading machinery.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols related to transportation logistics.
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues efficiently.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and compliance standards for commercial driving.
- Prior experience in freight delivery or logistics is preferred but not mandatory; a robust willingness to learn is valued.
