Location: Remote Mine Site, Northern British Columbia

Rotation: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off

Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts

Compensation: $56.00–$58.00 per hour, based on experience

Additional Compensation: Eligible for a monthly bonus The Opportunity

Twin Staffing is recruiting experienced Underground Heavy Equipment Technicians for a growing mining operation in Northern British Columbia.

The site is progressing through an important phase of development and operational readiness, creating an opportunity to join the maintenance team during the early stages of the mine’s continued growth. The company offers a safety-focused, team-oriented working setting with opportunities for long-term career development.

This is a camp-based position working a two-week-on/two-week-off rotation. The successful candidate will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of underground, surface and light-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Sandvik underground mining equipment, including:
- DD321 and DD422i electric-hydraulic jumbo drills
- DS411 rock bolters
- TH430 underground haul trucks
- LH514 underground loaders and scoops
- Other underground mobile equipment
- Diagnose and repair surface equipment, including:
- CAT 320 excavators
- CAT 420 backhoes
- CAT D7 dozers
- CAT 740 articulated rock trucks
- Western Star, International and Mack heavy trucks
- Perform electrical, suspension, powertrain and engine repairs on Ford F-150, F-250 and F-350 light-duty vehicles
- Troubleshoot Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 diesel engines and emission-control systems
- Complete shop and field repairs in underground and surface environments




- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled equipment servicing
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults using computerized testing and calibration equipment
- Troubleshoot CAN bus electrical systems
- Maintain accurate digital and paper maintenance records
- Complete equipment inspection reports and daily logbooks
- Perform daily and weekly pre-operational equipment checks
- Identify and clearly communicate equipment deficiencies and operational concerns
- Prepare accurate parts lists for required repairs
- Interpret and follow OEM manuals and technical maintenance instructions
- Inspect and maintain Ansul fire-suppression systems
- Complete light welding and fabrication repairs when required
- Support Fixed Maintenance, Site Services and other departments as needed
- Follow all site safety procedures and Safe Operating Procedures

Required Qualifications

- Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
- Minimum five years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician
- More than five years of underground maintenance experience
- Previous Sandvik equipment experience is required
- Previous Caterpillar equipment experience is preferred
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting capabilities




- Working knowledge of CAN bus electrical systems
- Experience maintaining underground drills, bolters, haul trucks and loaders
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse, cross-cultural workforce
- Physically capable of performing the requirements of the position
- Comfortable working at a remote camp-based mining operation

Rotation and Travel

- Two weeks on and two weeks off
- Twelve-hour shifts while on rotation
- Rotation changes generally take place on Tuesdays
- Travel is coordinated through designated marshalling locations, including:Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, Watson Lake
- Commercial flights and ground transportation to site are coordinated for rotational employees
- The journey to site may involve a ground shuttle from Whitehorse along the Alaska Highway
- Travel days should be expected to take most of the day
