We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team of smart steel creatives. Operating within the miscellaneous, renovation, and special projects niches of structural steel, CVU Steel is a blue-collar group of builders who know the building process, enjoy who we build with, and take pride in doing what others cannot or will not.

In this role, you will be fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with high precision, continuous lean improvement, and a relentless pursuit of operational excellence. Your craftsmanship will directly drive down our per-part cost while meeting the highest quality standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Blueprints & Technical Execution: Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical schematics with speed and precision to determine project specifications and fabrication requirements.
- Welding & Assembly: Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding to join metal parts with structural integrity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Fabrication & Machine Operation: Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools,



and specialized fabrication equipment to shape and assemble custom metal components, miscellaneous steel, and composite assemblies.
- Rigging & Safety: Conduct secure rigging, loading, and positioning of heavy structural materials using cranes and forklifts.
- Precision Measurement: Utilize calipers, tape measures, and precision layout tools to eliminate waste and guarantee exact fitment before shipping to the field.
- Lean & Continuous Improvement: Identify and eliminate waste in every part and hour, maintaining a clean workspace, adhering strictly to safety protocols, and catching errors early.
- Team Synergy: Help colleagues, share ideas freely, communicate transparently, and place team success above individual ego.

Skills & Qualifications
- Welding Proficiency: Demonstrated mastery in MIG and TIG welding techniques, producing clean, high-grade welds consistently.
- Technical & Mechanical Acumen: Strong mechanical aptitude with deep knowledge of fabrication machinery, tools, and layout processes.
- Rigging & Material Handling: Practical experience with rigging procedures, crane operation, and forklift handling for heavy structural assemblies.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to analyze complex structural steel schematics and detailing drawings accurately.
- Tool & Equipment Operation: Skilled with hand tools, power tools, press brakes, plasma cutters, and precision measuring devices.
- Mathematical Precision: Solid foundational math skills for calculations, layout verification, and material optimization.
- Lean Mindset & Curiosity: Understanding of lean concepts, a desire to lower part costs, and a drive for continuous learning and problem-solving.
- Character & Fit: Hungry, humble, smart, candid, resilient, and non-political.

Pay: $20.48-$44.57 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 60.0 per week
