Red Seal Truck and Equipment Repair is looking for a welder with heavy duty mechanic experience who can start as soon as possible.

Under the general direction of the Shop Foremen, the mechanic/welder will utilize journeyman/journeywoman level technical knowledge and expertise to perform complex mechanical and electrical tasks in repair, maintenance and inspection with minimal supervision. All tasks and assignments must follow established procedures in a professional, safe and cost-effective manner.

- Perform all welding related duties
- Ability to perform detail diagnostics
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems and recommend custom solutions
- Demonstrates the ability to plan and prioritize work and material requirements and operate independently,
- work on service-call at different locations
- Expected to plan and supervise the activities of junior staff assigned to them.
- Expected to play a leading role in implementing and promoting workplace safety and professionalism and recommend positive workplace change
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand written instructions, write job reports, work-order summaries and other record-keeping functions.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems (troubleshoot).




- Demonstrates self-control under pressure and maintains a positive attitude towards fellow employees.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment and common sense and conduct him/herself in a qualified manner.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Must be physically fit and of reasonable strength and endurance to perform the duties required truck/trailer shop operation.
- Able to perform duties in all weather conditions
- Full understanding of all relevant safety and compliance regulations, policies and generally accepted work practices relating to on-road Truck/Trailer shop operations.
- Full understanding of all elements of the job (shop safety, shop work practices, mechanical systems, use of all hand and power)
- Computer/keyboarding skills and a basic understanding of computer system
- Engine diagnostic experience on all kind of trucks is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years experience required.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Pay: $37.00-$48.00 per hour
