THE ROLE
Are you an experienced Welding Supervisor with a strong background in welding and fabrication? We’re looking for a hands-on leader to oversee an established afternoon-shift team in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment in Hamilton, ON.
As the Welding Supervisor , you’ll lead a team with a primary focus on welding and fabrication , while also providing leadership and oversight across the machine shop, sandblasting, and assembly areas . You’ll be responsible for delegating work, maintaining productivity and safety standards, addressing employee and operational issues, and providing hands-on welding and fabrication support when required.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can build relationships with an experienced, close-knit team, while ensuring operations across multiple departments run smoothly throughout the shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate a team across multiple departments
- Oversee daily welding and fabrication operations, while providing leadership and oversight to the machine shop, sandblasting, and assembly areas
- Delegate tasks, set priorities, and provide clear direction to team members
- Provide hands-on technical guidance, training,
and support to welding and fabrication staff
- Conduct visual inspections and verify weld quality meets company and customer specifications
- Monitor productivity, quality, safety, and workflow throughout the shift
- Support scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and operational issues in a timely manner
- Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain organized production paperwork and documentation
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team environment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience within a welding, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
- Strong background in welding and fabrication
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, delegate, and manage a team
- Strong communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to support welding and fabrication work
- Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane; certification can be completed in-house
- First Aid certification
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook
- Clear and effective English communication skills
- Ability to work within an established, close-knit team environment
- CWB certification (Level 1 or 2) or equivalent knowledge preferred
- Strong understanding of MIG, Flux core, and stick welding processes and blueprint reading
- Machining, assembly, or maintenance experience is considered an asset
- Must be comfortable maintaining organized paperwork, records, and documentation
