Security Developer (IAM / Authentication)Calgary, AB | Hybrid (1 day/week onsite) | ContractPay Rate: 80/hr INC or 68/hr T4About the RoleThe Security Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and securing identity and authentication systems within an enterprise environment. This role combines robust development expertise with a focus onauthentication, security testing, and identity platforms (IdP/CIAM) .You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions while supporting a major enterprise initiative focused on transitioning to apasswordless authentication ecosystem .Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & IntegrationDesign, develop, test, and integrate code intoidentity provider (IdP) systemsDevelop secure authentication features and support API integrationsDebug complex authentication and user management workflowsSecurity & TestingDesign and implementautomated security testing frameworksDevelop test scripts, test data, and test casesExecute testing cycles includingunit, regression, integration, performance, and system testingConduct authentication policy and code reviews to ensure security standardsIAM & AuthenticationWork withSSO standards and authentication protocols(SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC)Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in authentication flowsProvide subject matter expertise on secure integration with identity systemsCollaboration & Continuous ImprovementPartner with product and engineering teams to define technical requirementsProvide recommendations to improve product security and performanceSupport troubleshooting sessions and unblock delivery challengesPromote best practices across Identity, Application, and Security teamsProject ScopeThis role will support a large-scaleCIAM transformation initiative,
including:Transition topasswordless authenticationusing Passkeys and TOTP MFAUnification of identity systems into a“one identity” ecosystemDevelopment ofself-service credential recovery and identity verification flowsExpansion ofIVR authentication capabilitiesDelivery of secure authentication pathways for commercial lendingEnhancing platform quality throughautomated testing and analytics (e.G., Splunk)What You’ll Need3+ years of experience in an IT enterprise environmentBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Strong knowledge ofcybersecurity fundamentalsExperience with at least one programming language ( Java, Python, JavaScript )Experience withAPI integration and security standardsFamiliarity withGit or version control systemsStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiencesCore Technical SkillsExperience designing and implementingtest automation frameworksUnderstanding ofSSO and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC)Experience withobject-oriented programmingKnowledge ofauthentication systems and identity platformsFamiliarity withFIDO2 and passwordless authentication(asset)Experience withAgile development methodologies(asset)CompensationThe pay rate for this position is80/hr, based on experience, qualifications, and scope of the engagement.Vacancy StatusThis posting is for an existing contract position that is currently available to be filled.Use of Artificial IntelligenceNo artificial intelligence (AI) is used in the screening, assessment, or selection of candidates.
