Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.Job DescriptionThe Retail Advice & Solutions (RA&S;) Expense Management team is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to enable effective management decision‑making, working collaboratively with our business partners in Retail Advice & Solutions, other Canadian Business Units and Canadian and Corporate Finance. The Senior Financial Analyst, a key member of the RA&S; Expense Management team, will be responsible for the completion of the monthly/quarterly expense reporting, leading the expense planning/forecast process, coordinating the annual budget, providing ad‑hoc expense related analysis, and supporting any associated financial analysis. The role is a key contributor in driving expense insights, identifying savings opportunities and providing analysis and expense consulting to senior management.What will you doBuild and maintain strong and effective relationships with key business partners with the goal of understanding the underlying business modelPartner with key business partners to ensure alignment of strategic goals across Retail Advice & SolutionsInvestigate and analyze drivers of costs including strategic initiativesProvide input to business decisions including identifying expense savings opportunitiesUnderstand and effectively communicate results to various levels of managementManage monthly business partner forums and quarterly results meetingsPrepare monthly and quarterly views of expenses and key measuresLead all expense components of the annual planning cycle (strategic/business planning/budget), including training budget managers, as necessaryDevelop expense forecasts for management areas, including analysis of seasonality of expensesParticipate in and support expense deep dives, as neededMentor and coach staff, where applicable, to encourage development and support transfer of knowledgeSupport ad hoc expense projects as requiredWhat do you need to succeedAccounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA)5‑7 years of accounting experienceStrong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to accuracy and detailsStrong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain difficult concepts to audiences of different levels of understandingStrong ability to manage multiple deliverables while driving desired resultsProven ability to build and maintain successful relationships with business partnersProven flexibility, adaptability, and creativity to meet deadlines and manage prioritiesExcellent PC skills (MS Excel, Hyperion, Tableau) including experience in building reportsHighly motivated with the ability to consistently seek out improvements to current processesAssetsKnowledge of Insurance services and products and related market segmentsExpense and planning experienceNotes / Unique RequirementsOvertime will be required during peak periods (month‑end, quarter‑end,
