Support the healing journey of Indigenous women as a Counsellor and Outreach Support at the Women’s Rural Resource Centre. This compassionate role offers part-time engagement in Strathroy, Ontario, focusing on relationship-building and advocacy.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will provide trauma-informed counselling and help participants access critical community services. Leveraging a Two-Eyed Seeing approach, you will facilitate wellness programs and support group initiatives while connecting with various community partners. This role offers a chance to influence positive change in the lives of those you serve.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis intervention and participant-centered case management
• Assist participants in navigating legal and income-support systems
• Facilitate culturally grounded circles and support groups
• Collaborate with outreach and advocacy staff for holistic support
• Maintain confidentiality in participant documentation
Requirements:
• At least two years' experience in direct-support services
• Robust grasp of Indigenous histories and cultures
• Experience in trauma-informed and gender-based violence practices
• Relevant qualifications in social services or related fields
• Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration
