Position SummaryReporting to the Application Engineering Manager, Application Engineers play a critical role within our organization. They are responsible for the interpretation of customer specifications and power requirements. The Application Engineer/Specialist analyzes technical specifications and drawings to select the most appropriate G&W; product for the application. Our custom engineering capabilities allow for creative solutions that allow us to satisfy nearly any application. An appreciation for deep technical knowledge of the product and application are needed to excel in this position as well as an equal balance of negotiation and relationship building skills.Primary/Essential ResponsibilitiesDetermine and document the technical and commercial requirements of the customer’s applicationSelect the appropriate G&W; product to meet these requirementsDevelop accurate cost models for both standard and custom equipmentDetermine price levels and lead timesPartner with customers and our Engineering team to develop custom solutions that satisfy their needsBuild and maintain strong relationships with our internal resources and Sales TeamProvide timely and effective verbal and written communication to our internal resources and Sales TeamCommunicate these requirements to G&W;’s internal teams for engineering and manufacturingRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a four‑year accredited college or Engineering Technologist Diploma (3‑year program) with relevant experience in the industryA concentration in Power Engineering is highly desired1 to 3 years of experience as an applications engineer, inside sales,



or related areas preferably in industrial/manufacturing settingsStrong computer proficiencyExperience with JDE and Salesforce software is an assetStrong interpersonal skillsPreferred QualificationsExposure or prior experience with electrical switchgear, reclosers, SF6 insulated and dielectric switches would be a definite asset.Physical Demands / Working ConditionsGeneral Office Environment, PC useWhat We Offer YouTypical pay is $65,000 – 75,000 annually.
