Responsibilities:

1. Adhering to SLAs
2. ITIL Processes awareness and adhering to

4. Handling tickets / requests
5. Perform root cause analysis
6. Troubleshooting technical issues
7. Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to
8. Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration
9. Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA
10. Understanding of Multi-geo support environment
11. Responsible for building / maintaining a test workplace
12. Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario
13. Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
14. Suggests new technologies and design changes
15. Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members
16. Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
17. Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
18. Testing / Auditing/processes as required from time to time
19. Identify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updating
20. Assist / Plan / Procedure in Data centre consolidation efforts
21. Perform H/W & performance tuning and maintenance
22. Day-to-Day reporting analysis tasks

Technical Requirements:

1. Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux Servers / Virtualization (Mass DC Deployment)
2. Installation and configuration of HA environment using Linux cluster or Veritas Cluster.
3. Configuration and administration of LVM and Veritas logical volume manager.
4. Installing and Maintaining kick start environment
5.



Patch and Package administration (Mass Package management using Satellite/Yum etc)
6. Printer Administration
7. Writing shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task
8. Configuring and supporting domains
9. Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue
10. Administer and configure various FS like JFS,ext2, ext3, OCFS & Pseudo FS
11. Capacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performance
12. Knowledge on Apache virtual hosting, SSL website config
13. Understanding of SAN and NAS storage.
14. Administration of NIS or LDAP environment
15. Configuring Unix Security baseline
16. Performance Management & fine tuning
17. Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning
18. Solution Design Experience

- New datacenter set up and transformation/migration know how (Identification of tool and methodology to achieve Mass DC Build and consolidation)
- Providing consultancy for DC solution and standardization of the best practice related to Data center activities
- Provide escalation support for ongoing project across globe
- Advance understanding of x86 platform like UCS, Client, Dell
- Know how Cloud computing, backup and BoM (Licensing)
- Good understanding of x86 based application hosting, configuration and troubleshooting

Years of Experience:

Total: 10+ Years of experience
Relevant: Minimum of 5 yrs in Linux Administration / Support

Certification requirements:

1. Red Hat Certified Engineer
2. Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS)
3. Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS)
4. Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) (optional)
5. Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA)
