Located in Toronto, this role at Ewart Angus SPRINT Senior Care Homes involves working with residents who have Alzheimer's or related dementia. You will assist in the implementation of engaging daily activities, fostering connections, and boosting the overall quality of life for residents. Volunteers will coordinate with staff to tailor activities to the interests of those they assist.
Key Responsibilities:
• Encourage resident involvement in social activities
• Organize and maintain clean activity areas
• Walk with residents upon approval
• Create relationships through one-on-one visits
• Familiarize yourself with dementia care strategies
Requirements:
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Valuable team collaboration skills
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Interest in recreational programming beneficial
