Support women and children at Homeward Family Shelter as a Women's Advocate. This role involves crisis intervention, advocacy, and comprehensive support in a collaborative team environment.
As a Women's Advocate, you'll work to provide essential services through a feminist framework. Collaborate with a team to deliver support in crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning, ensuring an effective path to independence for residents. A commitment to addressing issues of violence and oppression is required.
Key Responsibilities: • Act as an advocate for women and children • Provide crisis intervention via phone and in-person • Conduct intakes, assessments, and safety planning • Assist with housing applications and resources • Coordinate program activities for women’s empowerment
Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., BSW) • 2+ years in counseling and group work • Knowledge of trauma, woman abuse, and violence prevention • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Valid driver’s license and liability insurance
