Responsible for the installation, repair, preventive maintenance, upgrading and renovations of electrical systems, devices, fixtures and other equipment at all buildings owned and operated by the Centre. These duties include work requiring electrical tradesperson's technical competence, physical capability, troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude. The position is responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor and takes direction during shifts from on duty supervisors.Qualifications:Grade 12 High School Diploma or academic equivalent through educational programs such as a Graduated Equivalent Diploma; Certification of Qualification as a Construction Electrician with inter-provincial standing; Five (5) years experience in the electrical trade with a minimum 2 years in a building maintenance workplace; Additional technical experience or qualified certification in areas such as electronics, industrial electrician, welding, plumbing or other certified trade an asset; Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and satisfactory driving record; Physical and mechanical aptitude to perform a full range of maintenance and manual tasks.Compensation:Classification: Trades 2 - NSUPE $29.68 per hour.Electricians are members of the Nova Scotia Union of Public & Private Employees, Local 2.
