DescriptionProduction Operator, Cobourg, ONWe are currently seeking talent for a Production Operator job for our Cobourg, ON location. Reporting to the Production Lead, this position is a full-time role that will start in an entry position in our packaging department, but has multiple opportunities to cross-train in other production roles and rapidly advance in pay with our skill-based pay structure. Operators are responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of impregnated surfaces at the site. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and Arclin’s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.This position’s pay range is $22.28 - $34.48 per hour. 12‑hour shifts (days/nightscontinental rotation ). An automatic raise to $23.17 is applied after the 3‑month probation period.What You’ll Do:Inspect and package final product, according to established procedures, standards and HSE regulationsVerify basic product label information, such as dimensions, sheet counts, etc.Assist production line operators with pallet changes, clean ups and start upsMaintain general housekeeping of production areasAssist with larger production area cleaning tasksFollow all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environmentReport all safety concerns immediately to Production Lead, HSE Lead or site Leadership teamOperate a forklift safely to move large pallets (empty & with product) throughout facilityOperate a clamp truck safely to move large paper rolls from warehouse to production areaOperate the production lines, using centerline process information to maintain each product specificationComplete and report quality testing accuratelyVisually monitor processes within their area of accountability and immediately inform the Production Lead of any deviations or abnormalitiesWork in close coordination with the Production Lead to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production schedules across all processesCommunicate and confer with the Production Lead, as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product qualityRespond to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinate timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocksPerform troubleshooting in the event of process deviationsIn this position you will have the opportunity to:Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvementsCollaborate with management to meet the production and shipping scheduleHelp to meet and exceed production, waste, and quality goalsTo be successful, you will need:High School Diploma or GED requiredBe able to accurately read and use a tape measureMust be ok with rotating 12‑hour shifts (Days/Nights continental rotation)Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout a 12‑hour shiftAble to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.Basic computer skills requiredBasic math skills required, including the basic use of a calculatorForklift experience a plus; would need to become recertified on siteAnalytical and mechanical mindset an assetMajor Benefits available to full‑time employees include:Comprehensive Health Insurance medical, dental, orthodontia (for dependents only)Company paid Life & Disability InsuranceSpousal & Dependent coverage available for purchaseTravel Insurance4% company contribution with an additional contributions for employee contributions and years of serviceEmployee Incentive Program (EIP) – At Arclin, success is never the result of just a single input, but a culmination of our entire team working hand‑in‑hand to provide value to our customers.
