Our strength comes from our diverse, inclusive team and a shared commitment to making a real difference in our community.We offer:A supportive, collaborative team environmentOngoing training & qualified developmentCompetitive wages and benefitsA strong culture guided by our 3Ps: Purpose, People, and PioneeringIf you’re looking for more than just a job—if you want work that truly matters—NAS is the place for you.About the RoleWe are currently seeking a dedicated Female Community Support Worker to join our Nelson Group Home team in NW Calgary .In this role, you will support individuals with complex behaviours, mental health challenges, trauma, and developmental disabilities, helping them build independence and actively participate in the community.Please note: Due to the personal care and safety needs of some individuals, this position requires a female support worker .What You’ll DoAs a Community Support Worker, you will:Provide holistic support (medical, emotional, behavioural, physical, and environmental)Support individuals with conditions such as FASD, BPD, ADHD, schizophrenia, addiction, trauma, and mood disordersFollow individualized support plans to help individuals achieve their goalsAssist with personal care, including hygiene and g-tube feeding (if required)Administer medications and documentationAccompany individuals to medical, legal, and community appointmentsSupport individuals in daily activities, chores, and community engagementMaintain safe, clean living environmentsHandle incident reports,



fire drills, and hazard assessmentsCommunicate with families, guardians, and external professionalsSupport individuals on Opioid Dependency Programs (ODP/OAT)Apply trauma-informed care and harm reduction practicesSafely manage environments involving biohazards and substance useRespond confidently in crisis situationsWho You AreYou are compassionate, resilient, and eager to make an impact. You bring:Knowledge of trauma-informed care & harm reduction philosophyExperience or understanding of mental health, addiction, and complex behavioursComfort working in fast-paced, high-needs environmentsWillingness to use PPE and follow infection control protocolsStrong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsA proactive mindset—always learning, researching, and adaptingSchedule & CompensationPosition: Permanent (32 hours/week)Schedule:Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PMSaturday & Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PMPay: $21 – $23/hourAdditional Benefits4% vacation pay6 flex days/year (after 3 months)Opportunities to pick up additional shiftsCertificate/Diploma in Human Services, Disability Studies, or related field (or equivalent)Class 5 Driver’s License + reliable vehicleMinimum $2,000,000 liability insuranceAbility to support individuals with complex needsPreferred Qualifications1+ year experience in human services, outreach, or group home settingsExperience with trauma, addiction, and harm reductionBackground in healthcare or medical fieldCurrent certifications:First Aid/CPRMedication AdministrationNon-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)Abuse Prevention & Positive Behaviour Supports#J-18808-Ljbffr
