Today, Layla is a service that facilitates personalized individual and couples therapy directly to the public as well as in collaboration with partners in the broader healthcare sector.Layla is seeking a business development qualified to join our small and fast-growing team. The candidate will lead the growth of Layla’s relationships with Primary Care Practitioners (PCPs) and clinics.Your Role and ResponsibilityWe follow a quarterly planning process and agile work methodology, setting clear accountabilities while maintaining collaboration. Your success will be defined by the strength of the relationships you create and maintain with PCPs. You can expect your role to be varied and evolve over time, generally including the following:Lead PCP relationship development across North York/York Region, with the potential to support other regions as needed as territories evolve over timeCreate awareness and collaborate with PCPs through field activities such as Lunch & Learns and clinic visits.Plan and conduct structured educational meetings at small and large clinics to increase Layla’s visibility, and educate practitioners about our mental health supports.Build and nurture new relationships while maintaining strong connections with existing partners.Work collaboratively with the team on shared goals, while focusing on your assigned region.Help organize and attend conferences, educational events, and other networking opportunities related to mental healthcare and PCPs.Process development: Work within an iterative approach based on data and insights; Review and tweak your strategies periodically (e.G. every two weeks) based on market and operational insights.Participate in team-based initiatives and projects that align with Layla’s growth priorities.Professional Experience and QualitiesExperience: 4+ years of work experience including 1+ years of experience in field sales or marketingProven ability to drive market development strategies and establish strong relationshipsExceptional written and verbal communication, presentation,



and interpersonal skillsDemonstrates an understanding of mental health, including the ability to communicate in an open, non-stigmatizing, and supportive mannerDependable with a track record of being practical and getting things done on timeProactive with a growth mindsetTeam-oriented and inclusive, promoting a welcoming environmentGiven the dynamic nature of our team, this role is for someone who can handle context switching well and thrives with frequent and responsive communicationComfortable using technology and software to enable their day‑to‑day workLocation & Logistical RequirementsMust be located within daily commuting distance to their territory.80%+ of your time will involve field work such as meeting and visits to doctors’ clinicsA valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policies.Flexibility to work outside traditional business hours for events, conferences, and outreach activities.Access to a private, quiet, and confidential workspace for remote work.High-speed internet and a mobile phone are required.Layla provides a work computer, and a monthly stipend for personal device use.External Program Eligibility RequirementsThis opportunity is intended to be funded through the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Program (YEP), delivered through National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).
