Become a vital member of Extendicare as a Certified Activity Aide, focusing on resident activities and holistic care in a part-time role.
In this position, you will take charge of planning, implementing, and assessing impactful activation programs that enhance residents’ well-being. Working closely with nursing staff, you will also maintain accurate documentation and monitor the health and behavior of residents, ensuring that they receive the best support available.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and evaluate individual and group activation programs
• Clean and prepare activity areas for participation
• Observe and report on residents’ conditions during programs
• Maintain accurate records of resident involvement
• Coordinate with departments to meet resident needs
Requirements:
• Proof of completion of an Activation/Gerontology program
• Proven communication and documentation skills
• Experience with cognitive impairment programming
• Robust independence and decision-making capabilities
• Background in geriatric assessments and care planning
