Contribute to public procurement at the City of Mississauga as a Procurement Specialist in a hybrid role. Focus on compliance and risk management while delivering exceptional consulting services.
This permanent position reports to the Procurement Business Partner Manager. Your role encompasses managing procurement projects, including creating strategies and ensuring all acquisitions comply with relevant laws. You will also provide advice, train clients on procurement applications, and handle customer inquiries effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee entire procurement process from planning to execution
• Ensure compliance with policies and trade agreements
• Develop bid documents and analyze project requirements
• Provide consulting services and training to clients
• Mediate issues between clients, suppliers, and consultants
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience in public sector procurement
• Preferred certifications: CPPB, NIGP-CPP, or NISCL-MPICS
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
• Solid communication and analytical abilities
• Familiarity with SAP and electronic bidding systems
