The Supervisor ensures that the environment complies with the standards set by the Ministry of Education and the requirements of the Health Unit. Some of the key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the Manager of Childcare Services to ensure consistency and quality across all educational programs within the centres; assuming the Manager’s responsibilities during absences, including operational decision-making and emergency management; and overseeing all aspects of the childcare centre’s operations, including staff management, planning of educational activities, food services, and other areas essential to the effective functioning of the centre.RequirementsHold a diploma in Early Childhood Education.Be a registered member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario.Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a licensed early childhood education setting.Possess in-depth knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and the licensing process for childcare operations.Be familiar with Ontario’s Early Learning Framework and the How Does Learning Happen? document, in order to deliver a high-quality,



engaging educational program that supports the development of children aged 18 months to 12 years.Demonstrate knowledge of educational games, age-appropriate activities, safe and suitable toys, and the ability to create a healthy, stimulating, and protected environment for children while adhering to a set budget.Understand the Canada Food Guide and be able to apply its principles in meal planning.Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet the objectives of the childcare centre.Be proficient with office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office (especially Outlook), telephone systems, photocopiers, and fax machines.Communicate effectively in both French and English, orally and in writing.Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills to interact professionally and positively with families, colleagues, and management.Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certification.Have an up-to-date immunization record.Be available to participate in training sessions offered by the Childcare Services Department or partner organizations.Possess a valid driver’s license.As per the non-unionized salary scale $69,456 à $86,821Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
