Position: FASD Keyworker

Location: Surrey, Newton/South Surrey/White Rock

Hours: 9am – 4pm

Salary: $27.81

Start Date: October 1, 2026

This is a permanent full time position with Sources Community Resources. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and knowledgeable professional who has strong communication skills and a passion for supporting children, youth, and families affected by FASD and other complex developmental behavioural conditions (CDBC).

As a Keyworker, you will help families access and coordinate services, provide education and guidance, facilitate case planning meetings, advocate for client needs, and connect families with community resources and supports. You will also help parents develop structured, predictable routines and create calm, supportive home environments that promote positive outcomes for children and youth. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of FASD and related behavioural challenges, experience working collaboratively with families and community partners.

Strong relationship-building, advocacy, and organizational skills are essential.

Description Of Position

Reporting to: Program Manager

General Responsibilities

- Maintain client records.
- Participate in program evaluation and ongoing accreditation tasks.
- Reports monthly to Manager on family progress and monthly service hours.
- Ensures that all Society policies and procedures are followed.

Program-specific Responsibilities

- Empower parents of children with complex neurodevelopmental conditions by providing support, guidance, resources, and information.
- Help families access and understand relevant local services, supports, and community resources.
- Assist families in adapting their home environment and establishing routines that support their child's development and wellbeing.
- Model and implement emotional regulation and mindfulness strategies with both parents and children.
- Support parents and their child in setting meaningful goals and collaboratively developing action plans to achieve them.
- Serve as a liaison between the family, school, and other professionals,



while helping to strengthen the family's support network.
- Facilitate support groups, workshops, and information sessions for parents and caregivers.
- Ability to travel to clients’ homes and/or meet them out in the community.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences and experience working with children and youth with complex neurodivergent conditions and their families.
- Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems
- Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)
- Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract, access to personal vehicle
