We are seeking a reliable, compassionate individual to join our team in providing dedicated, one-on-one support for two adults who use wheelchairs. This role is ideal for a self-motivated qualified who thrives when working independently and takes pride in offering respectful, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

- Comprehensive Care: Provide attentive daily personal care tailored to individual needs, ensuring dignity, comfort, and well-being.
- Mobility Support: Safely manage all lifts and transfers to assist individuals with daily movements and routines.

Position Details

- Schedule: Weekend availability required (flexible shift structures available).

In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home and community. You will provide routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organize. You will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals. This specific position requires you to be able to use and feel comfortable using mechanical lifts with patients on your own, as it is a single staffed home.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct Care & Daily Living Support: Assist with personal hygiene, mobility transfers/lifts, meal planning and preparation, basic housekeeping, budgeting, and routine personal care while respecting dignity and privacy.
- Health & Safety Management: Administer medications, operate adaptive or medical equipment (e.g., CPAP machines), monitor health/behavioral changes, adhere to health and safety standards (OH&S;/PDD), and safely transport clients to appointments and activities.




- Community Engagement & Skill Building: Support clients in achieving personal goals, identifying employment or volunteer opportunities, engaging in recreational programs (e.g., sports, swimming), and building strong social networks.
- Behavior Management & Advocacy: Implement individualized service plans, support positive behavior protocols, and advocate alongside clients to help them voice their needs.
- Documentation & Administration: Maintain accurate digital logs, incident reports, goal progress trackers, and financial records while adhering to strict privacy guidelines (FOIP).
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with families, guardians, and multidisciplinary staff, and actively participate in team and house meetings.

Key Qualifications & Attributes

- Technical & Physical Skills: Ability to perform physical lifts/transfers, assist with high-needs care, conduct defensive driving, and actively participate in recreational activities with clients.
- Core Competencies: Strong record-keeping abilities, proficiency with client-tracking technology, knowledge of medication administration protocols, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Values: A patient, respectful, and encouraging approach with a firm commitment to client advocacy, inclusion, and safety.

Pre employment Required Qualifications:

First Aid and CPR Level C

Completed Security Clearance Check with vulnerable sector search

Reliable vehicle

Valid class 5 driver’s license, abstract when requested

Vehicle liability insurance

Pay: From $21.72 per hour
