Seniority Level: Associate Specialist

About the Position:

Whish Money Canada is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team in Montréal and manage the day-to-day AML/ATF compliance function. The role requires strong hands-on Canadian compliance experience and knowledge of FINTRAC requirements.

Key Tasks:

- Manage and maintain the Canadian AML/ATF compliance program
- Perform transaction monitoring, investigations and escalations
- Prepare and submit FINTRAC regulatory reports, including STRs, LCTRs and EFTRs
- Manage KYC/CDD, PEP/HIO and sanctions screening and ongoing monitoring
- Review and update AML policies, procedures and risk assessments
- Maintain required compliance records and documentation
- Support FINTRAC examinations, audits and effectiveness reviews
- Monitor Canadian regulatory developments and requirements

Requirements:

- 5–7 years of Canadian AML/compliance experience
- CAMS certification
- Bilingual in English/French
- Strong knowledge of FINTRAC and PCMLTFA requirements




- Hands-on experience in transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting
- Excellent analytical, investigative and communication skills
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have:

- Experience within an MSB, remittance, payments, fintech or financial institution
- Experience supporting FINTRAC examinations or effectiveness reviews

Technical Skills:

- Experience with transaction monitoring and KYC/AML systems
- Familiarity with sanctions and PEP screening tools
- Experience with compliance case management and regulatory reporting systems
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
