Miller’s Home Hardware Building Centre is looking for a Contractor Desk Sales Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, has an interest in the building and construction industry, and takes pride in providing knowledgeable and reliable service.

About the Role:

As a Contractor Desk Sales Associate, you will work directly with contractors and customers to help them find the products they need to complete their projects. You will prepare quotations, assist with product selection and pricing, coordinate deliveries, and ensure orders are handled accurately and efficiently from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

- Work directly with contractors to ensure products are ordered accurately and coordinate deliveries to job sites.
- Assist contractors and customers with finding the products and materials needed for their projects.
- Provide knowledgeable, friendly and efficient customer service.
- Prepare quotations, estimates and pricing information.
- Answer incoming calls and assist customers at the Contractor Desk.
- Assist the Rental Department by helping customers select appropriate tools and ensuring rental transactions and returns are processed accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of products, pricing and building-related information.
- Follow store procedures related to pricing, receiving, inventory, reordering, restocking, loss prevention and merchandise presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized and secure work setting.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.




- Follow all applicable health and safety requirements and report hazards or unsafe conditions to management.
- Work cooperatively with contractors, customers, coworkers, suppliers and management.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous retail, contractor desk, building supply or construction-related experience is an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with contractors, suppliers and customers in a professional manner.
- Good mathematical and organizational skills.
- Ability to prepare and understand pricing, estimates and quotations.
- Friendly, helpful and team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn and continually develop product and industry knowledge.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team setting.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, dependable, organized and willing to learn. Knowledge of building materials and construction is an asset, but we are also interested in candidates who have strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in learning the business.
