Job Overview The Automotive Shop Hand works in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the shop remains organized, clean, and protected, while providing hands-on assistance to skilled technicians and tradespeople
Responsibilities
Shop Maintenance: Clean, organize, and maintain shop areas, workstations, and equipment.
Inventory & Kitting: Assist with loading/unloading deliveries, organizing parts, and preparing material kits for production.
Equipment Support: Handle basic tool maintenance
General Labor: Provide basic physical labor and help senior technicians with active projects.
Locate and retrieve products as needed.
Participate in meetings and training sessions and apply feedback to improve performance.
Follow company, store, department, and Automotive Service Centre policies and procedures.
Comply with health and safety regulations and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have minimum 1 year automotive shop experience
Automotive trade education considered an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge of automotive parts and a robust interest in the automotive industry.
Ability to work independently with computerized systems and minimal supervision.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Monday to Friday, occasional weekends during busy tire season
Stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
Lift and carry merchandise on a regular and unassisted basis; items may range from light to heavy.
Perform frequent lifting and turning throughout the shift.
Lift items from floor to waist, floor to shoulder, and above shoulder height.
Climb up and down ladders while carrying merchandise.
Walk while carrying items and perform pushing and pulling as required.
Perform repetitive movements including twisting, turning, and reaching, including work above shoulder level.
