The Inclusion Support Worker I works collaboratively with the program leader and supervisor to adapt activities for the needs of the child(ren) they are supporting. The incumbent will ensure the child(ren) are engaged in activities and provided with developmentally and age‑appropriate program adaptations while ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesFacilitates participation and adapts activities as required for a child requiring one on one supportEncourages independence where appropriate and assists in developing child's self confidenceEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with parents, children program leaders and supervisorCompletes any necessary written documentation of the child's progress as part of their designated care planPromotes and delivers safe, healthy, positive interactions, communications, diversity and learning opportunitiesPromotes and enhances creative ideas in all program areas such as arts and crafts, dramatic play, music appreciation, science and nature, and sportsEnsures the safety and general well‑being of the supported child at all timesProblem solves minor issues independently,



conferring with supervisor regarding progress concerns and recommendationsEnsures equipment and program spaces are protected and sanitary before and after each program sessionAdheres to licensing requirements set forth by the Ministry of Children and Family DevelopmentActs as a liaison between the general public and CRD; providing good customerservice and clear communication with parents and caregiversFollows all policies, procedures, and standards of the CRDPerforms other related duties as requiredAdditional InformationThe position term in anticipated to be term duration or until the child no longer requires careKey Skills & AbilitiesExperience working with children with disabilities or additional support needs is preferredExperience working with children in a recreation setting is an assetPhysically and psychologically capable of performing the duties of the roleExcellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal, and customer service skillsQualificationsSome directly related experienceCertificationsAcceptable criminal record check; the applicant/incumbentis required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employmentEmergency First Aid and CPR‑CAPPLICATIONSTo apply for this exciting opportunity, please click "Apply now" to submit your resume and covering letter online.We welcome all qualified applicants to apply and may consider a combination of experience, education and/or training where possible.
