About the Opportunity micro1 is selecting Subject Matter Experts in Chart & Data Visualization Analysis to contribute to a high-impact AI training project. You will apply your expertise in interpreting domain-specific charts, graphs, and quantitative data to help train and improve next-generation AI systems. The role requires strong quantitative reasoning, precision with technical terminology, and the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly.
No prior AI experience is required—your domain expertise is what matters.
Professionals from Medicine & Biostatistics, Finance & Economics, Engineering & Physics, Earth Sciences & GIS, Data Science & Statistics, and Operations & Manufacturing are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze domain-specific charts, graphs, and data visualizations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Design transparent and unambiguous questions based on information-rich charts and visual datasets.
- Develop objectively answerable tasks requiring multi-step quantitative reasoning.
- Create questions involving calculations, comparisons, trend analysis, and interpretation of complex visual data.
- Provide precise answers with detailed, step-by-step explanations of calculations and reasoning.
- Apply accurate terminology relating to chart types, units, axes, scales, legends, confidence intervals, and time periods.
- Review tasks to ensure they are objective, technically accurate,
and free from ambiguity.
- Identify and eliminate unsupported conclusions, unnecessary complexity, and subjective interpretations.
- Collaborate remotely with project coordinators and reviewers throughout the task development and review process.
- Communicate analytical findings and reasoning clearly through written and verbal communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant quantitative or domain-specific field.
- At least 2 years of professional, academic, or research experience working with relevant charts or quantitative data.
- Strong ability to accurately interpret complex charts, graphs, and data visualizations.
- Demonstrated multi-step quantitative reasoning and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of domain-specific terminology and quantitative concepts.
- Ability to construct clear, precise, and objectively answerable questions.
- Strong written English and ability to explain calculations and reasoning clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote and asynchronous environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree, professional credential, or significant industry specialization.
- Background in Medicine,
Biostatistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Earth Sciences, GIS, Data Science, Statistics, Operations, or Manufacturing.
- Experience interpreting charts containing multiple data series, annotations, statistical features, or complex visual elements.
- Experience creating technical assessments, benchmark questions, or structured analytical tasks.
- Experience developing questions or evaluation materials for learning, analytics, research, or assessment purposes.
- Strong ability to distinguish objective conclusions from unsupported interpretations.
- Previous experience collaborating with technical or research teams remotely.
Compensation
- Rate: $25–$50 per hour

Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- At least 2 years of professional, academic, or research experience involving domain-relevant charts or quantitative data.
- Strong quantitative reasoning and chart interpretation skills.
