Your Opportunity
This is an opportunity for you to become part of a agile nutrition team in the city of Medicine Hat. As an acute and ambulatory care Dietitian, you would be a frontline professional within Nutrition Services reporting to the Manager, Nutrition Services Southern Alberta. In this position, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating nutrition care plans for pediatric and neonatal patients in acute care and pediatric specialty clinic practice areas. You will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team in both facility and community settings in the practice areas you cover to achieve nutrition and health outcomes using a patient and family centered approach. Description
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development,
implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings.
Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years' experience as a dietitian with one year of this being in an acute care setting. Experience with enteral nutrition. Restricted activity to prescribe parenteral nutrition. Experience in pediatric and neonatal nutrition care. Experience in nutrition counselling for behaviour change. Demonstrated knowledge of virtual health applications for patient care (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).
