Duties

- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each dog’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Assess each pet’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to tailor grooming techniques accordingly
- Handle dogs safely and compassionately, ensuring a stress-free experience for every pet
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation standards and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requests and provide expert advice on pet care
- Assist with heavy lifting of grooming equipment or large dogs as needed to ensure safety and efficiency
- Keep detailed records of services provided,

Experience

- Prior experience in dog grooming is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with pet owners and handle inquiries professionally
- Comfortable handling dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments
- Patient, gentle and safety-conscious
- Knowledge of animal behavior, grooming techniques, and safety procedures is advantageous
- A genuine love for animals combined with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills

A grooming portfolio or photographs of previous work are strongly preferred.

Compensation:

50% of actual grooming service price collected before HST on completed grooming services (including add-ons), with 100% of tips. Maison provides the space, utilities, booking/POS system, reception, marketing, supplies and tools, salon infrastructure, laundry/cleaning support and customer acquisition.

Pay: $17.60-$40.22 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
