Maple Creek and District Opportunities Inc. is dedicated to advocating on behalf of adults with a developmental disability and providing them with quality housing and support.
Maple Creek is a thriving, friendly community in Southwest Saskatchewan. Located at the foot of the Cypress Hills it enjoys easy access to diverse recreational opportunities and the Trans=Canada Highway. Maple Creek has a Regional Health facility, K-12 schools, a new daycare centre and well-developed recreation facilities.
The Opportunity
We are currently in search of a permanent full-time executive director. Reporting to the board of directors, and holds overall responsibility for all aspects of the organization’s operations
Key Responsibilities
· Relationship building with all stakeholders, both internal (staff, people supported by the organization) and external (community, funders, government, etc.).
· Leads all aspects of the operations, including service delivery, financial management, and human resources.
· Influences and supports the Board in development of strategic plans.
· Implements strategic goals and objectives according to Board direction.
· Provides leadership to management team and staff.
Key Qualifications
We are looking for a community-oriented leader who is up for any challenge, who has the passion to help people of all abilities thrive in our community, someone who treats people with dignity and respect.
In addition, successful candidates will have:
· 3 to 5 years of leadership/management experience, working with a volunteer Board of Directors. preferably in a nonprofit organization and with experience in the health/social services/disability sector,
· An undergraduate degree in management, leadership, community development, social work or equivalent education and experience.
· An understanding of financial systems, budgeting and reporting requirements.
· Familiarity and desire to work with people with differing abilities.
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience along with group advantages including a pension.
