full-time positions (work is available 12 months of the year)Ongoing on and off-site trainingIndentureship in the electrical trade and room to grow in the companyPrimary duties of the job include:Installation of solar electric systems on various slopes of roofs of residential and commercial buildings, as well as commercial ground mount projectsEnsure crew and job site safety, including proper use of PPE and Fall ProtectionDistributing material and solar modules throughout the site, including up and down laddersUsing hand tools, both manual and powered, to install racking and modular componentsHelping with site upkeep as requiredProviding friendly service to all customersQualifications (must haves):Ability to carry heavy solar panels and other items up to 60lbs throughout the dayComfortable working on roofs (various slopes), or just a love of heights! - previous roofing experience is considered a solid assetMust be able to work outside in all weather conditions, year-roundWilling to work out of town occasionallyReliable transportation to and from workLooking to join a tight-knit team of like minded individuals with the interest of working towards the common goal of a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable global community.CLB 7/Intermediate is the minimum English level required for safety protocolAssets (preferred but not required):A valid class 5 licensePrior construction/trades experience is preferred, on job training will be providedSolar training and/or solar installation certification (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc)Valid Fall Protection training/certification (otherwise provided by SkyFire)Experience working on sloped roofs (commercial or residential)At SkyFire Energy, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of our organization.
