Night Shift Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Prep Worker

We are hiring a Night Shift Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Prep Worker to join our produce preparation team in Scarborough.

This is an overnight position. Applicants must be available to work Sunday night through Friday night. Please only apply if you are able to consistently work overnight hours.

Schedule & Pay

- Night shift
- Start time: 9:00 p.m.
- Shifts are approximately 8–10 hours
- Approximately 44 hours per week
- Availability required Sunday night through Friday night
- Full-time, permanent position
- Starting wage: $18.00 per hour
- Location: Scarborough - Lawrence & Midland

About the Role

Country Boys Produce is a wholesale distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables serving restaurants and foodservice customers throughout the GTA.

We are looking for a dependable and efficient team member to prepare fresh-cut fruits and vegetables for our customers.

This is a warehouse food-production position, not a restaurant position, and there is no cooking involved. The work primarily involves washing, peeling, trimming, cutting, portioning and packaging fresh produce.

Experience using knives to prepare fruits and vegetables is an asset, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

- Wash, peel, trim and cut fresh fruits and vegetables according to specifications
- Use knives and food-preparation tools safely and efficiently
- Portion and package finished products
- Maintain consistency in product size, quality and presentation
- Follow food-safety, sanitation and handling procedures
- Keep food-preparation surfaces, equipment and work areas clean and organized
- Properly store and handle fresh produce
- Assist with general cleaning and sanitation duties




- Support other food-production or warehouse tasks when required

Requirements
- Must be able to consistently work overnight shifts
- Must be available Sunday night through Friday night
- Comfortable standing and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated/cool environment
- Dependable, punctual and able to maintain regular attendance
- Solid attention to cleanliness and food safety
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Knife skills and experience preparing fresh fruits and vegetables are an asset
- Previous food-preparation, food-production or restaurant experience is an asset
- Knowledge of food handling and food-safety practices is an asset
- Food Handler Certification is preferred but training/certification can be provided if required
