Join BCIT's School of Construction and the Environment as a full-time Faculty specializing in Ironworking. Empower learners through rich experiences in both classroom and practical settings. We are looking for a temporary, full-time Ironworker Faculty member to instruct students in a variety of ironworking techniques.
Successful applicants will deliver engaging lessons while supervising hands-on shop work. You will be involved in the evaluation process and manage the curriculum effectively for optimal student learning outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present lesson plans for classroom sessions
- Provide shop and lab instruction to enhance practical skills
- Monitor student performance and administer evaluations
- Oversee online curriculum and instruct using digital tools
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance program offerings Requirements:
- BC Certificate of Qualification in Ironworking with Red Seal status
- Five years of hands-on trade experience
- Background in reinforcing and structural steel
- Experience in welding and mass timber is advantageous
- Solid interpersonal and administrative skills This role is a chance to inspire and guide students in their ironworking journey at BCIT.
