Jim White Auto Service is a busy, small independent repair shop that has been serving the local community for over 30 years. We are looking for a dependable and motivated person to join our team.

The position will primarily involve tires, oil changes, routine maintenance and light automotive repairs. Because we are an independent shop, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles and gain hands-on experience with many different types of repairs.

For the right person, this position may lead to an Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship.

## Responsibilities

- Install, balance and repair tires
- Perform oil changes and routine maintenance
- Perform or assist with light mechanical repairs
- Assist with vehicle inspections and identifying maintenance needs
- Assist technicians with repairs as required
- Keep the work area, tools and equipment clean and organized
- Follow proper shop and safety procedures

## What We're Looking For

We aren't necessarily looking for someone with years of automotive experience. We are looking for someone who is:

- Mechanically inclined and enjoys working on vehicles
- Dependable and punctual
- Willing to work and learn
- Able to take direction and work as part of a small team
- Interested in developing their mechanical skills
- Comfortable working in a busy shop environment




- In possession of a valid driver's licence

Previous automotive, tire or mechanical experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.

Experience working on farm equipment, machinery, small engines, motorcycles or other mechanical equipment is also valuable.

## Apprenticeship Opportunity For someone interested in making automotive repair a career, there may be an prospect to become a registered Automotive Service Technician apprentice with our shop.

We're looking for someone who can start with the basics, learn as they go and take on more responsibility as their skills and experience develop.

## Position Details

Job Type: Full-time – Immediate opening

Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Weekends: No weekends

Work Location: In person
