Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, Indigenous Engagement and Applied Research, the Indigenous Services Lead is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Tsi Titewaya’taró:roks Indigenous Centre and supporting the delivery of services, programs, and initiatives that enhance Indigenous student success and belonging. The incumbent provides functional leadership to Centre staff, oversees operational processes and administrative systems, and supports the implementation of the Centre's strategic and operational priorities. Grounded in Indigenous worldviews, particularly those of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe nations, the Indigenous Services Lead contributes to a culturally responsive and welcoming environment that promotes positive Indigenous identity, community engagement, and student wellbeing.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Indigenous Centre, ensuring effective administration, service delivery, resource management, and operational efficiency.




- Provide functional leadership and operational guidance to Centre staff, student employees, and volunteers, supporting workflow coordination and achievement of operational priorities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures, communication strategies, reporting processes, and administrative systems that support continuous improvement and effective service delivery.
- Serve as a key resource for Indigenous students by coordinating student supports, administering student assistance programs, supporting student wellbeing initiatives, and connecting students with appropriate resources and services.
- Oversee processes related to Indigenous student self-identification, Confirmation of Indigeneity, student records, and confidentiality requirements in accordance with College policies and Indigenous Centre protocols.
- Monitor operational budgets, financial records, expenditures, reporting requirements, and administrative processes to support sound financial stewardship and informed decision-making.
- Support the planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of Indigenous Centre programs, events, cultural learning opportunities, student transition activities, and community engagement initiatives.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, Indigenous communities, Elders, knowledge holders, internal departments, and external partners to strengthen Indigenous education, engagement, and student success.
- Collect, analyze, and report operational, program, and service data to support accountability, planning, and continuous improvement.
- Participate on committees, working groups, and community initiatives that support the goals and priorities of the Indigenous Centre and the College.

Qualifications

- Minimum four-year undergraduate degree in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience, preferably within a post-secondary, Indigenous, community,



or public sector environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous histories, cultures, worldviews, and contemporary realities, with particular knowledge of Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe nations.
- Experience working with Indigenous students, communities, organizations, or education partners.
- Experience coordinating programs, services, projects, operational activities, and special events.
- Demonstrated experience monitoring budgets, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting operational planning.
- Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, strong Excel skills, and experience with databases or workflow management systems. Experience using AirTable would be an asset.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to apply policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and sound judgment in a sensitive and student-centered environment.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language is considered an asset.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
- The incumbent identifies as being of Indigenous heritage including First Nations, Metis or Inuit (as a bona fide occupational requirement, under Section 24(1) of the Ontario Human Rights Code
