Our teams collaborate to build strong connections with staff, clients and local communities, and we provide a highly autonomous work setting, career development, and a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.The OpportunityMcElhanney is seeking Construction Surveyors / Survey Technicians to join teams based in Edmonton and across Alberta, including remote assignments.This role allows you to grow your surveying career with a well‑established consultancy known for its knowledge, quality and work ethic.Opportunities exist in Edmonton, surrounding areas and remotely.Assignments are typically long‑term projects in municipal infrastructure, highways, rail, LRT, bridges, plant sites and other resource industry facilities.Potential for field supervisor roles on some sites.Access to leading capabilities in Surveying, Scanning, RPAS/drone operations, Bathymetry, LiDAR, remote sensing, line locating and GIS.Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing and pre‑site access testing are required.What You’ll DoComplete field surveys for Resource, Construction and Engineering projects, including topographic surveys, alignment layout, grades and features, high‑order control networks, deformation monitoring, earthworks and legal surveys.Operate the latest generation of instruments and emerging technologies.Collaborate with the Project Manager to understand project objectives, budgets, goals, schedules and timeframes.Develop processing and calculation skills to broaden knowledge of survey operations. Experience with TBC, Microsurvey and StarNet is an asset.Work alongside McElhanney Site Inspectors and Engineers on site where appropriate.Participate in the RPAS/drone program,



receiving training to qualify for Advanced Certification and to process data and compile reports.Manage surveying tasks semi‑autonomously, fully supported by a project team.Ensure implementation of quality assurance, safety and policy compliance.What You’ll BringTwo‑year technical diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related subject with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
