The Manual Lathe Machinist plays a crucial role in a small team environment, expertly operating manual lathes to machine a variety of materials including metals, mixed materials, and plastics. This position demands high precision and adherence to industrial tolerance standards, working on diverse projects such as prototyping, production runs, custom orders, and maintenance or repair tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes for precision machining of parts
- Set up and adjust tooling for specific machining tasks
- Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Conduct routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance
- Use precision measurement instruments to verify dimensions
- Maintain safety standards during all machining processes
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manual lathe machining
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in manual lathe operation
- Strong blueprint interpretation skills
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of quality control procedures
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with workplace safety procedures
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: $17.20-$30.00 per hour
