This role is based in Current Westminster and collaborates with the Reproductive Mental Health team.What You'll Bring To The RoleMaster's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, Psychology or another relevant health disciplineAt least two years of recent counselling experience in community and/or hospital settings with programs for women dealing with reproductive mental health issuesValid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicleDetailed OverviewReporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations, the Clinical Counsellor delivers independent or co‑facilitated individual, couple, and group counseling, consults with various health care providers, and plans community‑based education. Services may be provided in person or virtually, and travel may be required.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive clinical counselling and psychotherapy in group, couple, and individual settings using evidence‑based techniques.Conduct initial assessments and interviews with referral sources to determine client needs, service eligibility, and appropriateness for the Reproductive Mental Health program.Receive and document referrals via phone, mail, fax, walk‑ins, and other channels, completing required intake forms and entering data into the electronic clinical record.Screen and assess clients through interviewing and information gathering, interpreting data in accordance with professional standards.Plan, design,



and deliver individual and group psychotherapy tailored to reproductive mental health patients.Maintain confidential patient files and documentation of telephone and in‑person contacts.Consult with a wide range of health care, social service, and community providers on clinical issues related to reproductive mental health.Collaborate with the RMH outreach coordinator to develop, deliver, and evaluate community education and training, and facilitate discussion groups.Initiate planning, coordination, and evaluation of educational resources for the program, using teaching modalities such as videoconferencing.Establish program goals, objectives, and quality‑assurance metrics with the team.Lead program planning, coordination, and evaluation at community and provincial levels to increase capacity for addressing reproductive mental health across British Columbia.Provide referrals to BC Women’s and other community resources for patients and care providers.Deliver education, training, and in‑services to health care providers on concurrent mental and substance use disorders.Coordinate and facilitate continuing education events at provincial, national, and international levels regarding perinatal psychiatric disorders.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation,



Training & Experience- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related health discipline from an accredited institution.- Two years of recent counseling experience in community and/or hospital organizations providing programs for women experiencing reproductive mental health issues, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.- Eligible for registration with a relevant professional association.- Valid BC Driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.Skills & AbilitiesThorough knowledge of reproductive mental health issues, including concurrent mental health and substance abuse disorders.Proficient in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as a therapeutic modality.Ability to work within a community development framework across sectors.Team‑based collaboration as a member of an interdisciplinary team.Proficiency in conducting individual and group therapy sessions alone and as a co‑facilitator.Skill in designing, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating education/training or discussion groups for this population.Capability to develop health‑care resources tailored to diverse audiences.Research and project planning skills, including drafting proposals and reports.Understanding of provincial (BC) context related to service delivery and policy issues.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Problem‑solving and conflict resolution abilities.Organizational and prioritization skills.Ability to work with diverse populations.Operational knowledge of related equipment.Physical capability to perform duties of the position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
