Key
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot,
maintain, repair, and install industrial electrical systems and
equipment.
Diagnose electrical, electronic, and
control-system failures on production and packaging
equipment.
Maintain and repair motors, motor
controls, variable-frequency drives, sensors, switches, relays,
contactors, control panels, and distribution
systems.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment
and automated production systems.
Perform
preventive and corrective maintenance according to established
schedules.
Respond promptly to production
breakdowns and minimize equipment
downtime.
Inspect electrical components and
systems to identify hazards, wear, or potential
failures.
Install and modify wiring, conduit,
panels, lighting, and electrical
equipment.
Read and interpret electrical
drawings, schematics, ladder diagrams, blueprints, and equipment
manuals.
Support equipment installations, plant
renovations, shutdowns, and continuous-improvement
projects.
Assist with identifying opportunities
to improve equipment reliability, safety, and
efficiency.
Complete work orders and accurately
document inspections, repairs, parts,
and maintenance
activities.
Coordinate maintenance activities
with production, sanitation, contractors, and other skilled
trades.
Follow all electrical codes, GMP,
HACCP, food-safety, sanitation, lockout/tagout, and company safety
procedures.
Maintain tools, testing equipment,
parts, and work areas in a safe and organized
condition.
Participate in overtime or emergency
call-outs when required.
Perform other
electrical and maintenance duties within the scope of the
position.
Qualifications
Valid
Journeyperson Industrial Electrician certification; Red Seal
endorsement is strongly preferred.
Previous
electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing
environment is required.
Experience in food
processing, meat production, packaging, or a similar industry is an
asset.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs,
automated controls, instrumentation, and variable-frequency drives
is preferred.
Knowledge of motors, control
circuits, electrical distribution systems, and industrial
automation.
Experience working with industrial
voltages, including 600-volt systems, is an
asset.
Ability to read and interpret electrical
drawings, schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical
manuals.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical,
and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with
applicable electrical codes and occupational health and safety
requirements.
Experience using computerized
maintenance management systems is an
asset.
Strong communication skills and the
ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary
maintenance team.
Physical and Work
Requirements
Ability to lift and
carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk,
bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated
areas.
Comfortable working in refrigerated,
warm, wet, noisy, and physically demanding
environments.
Ability to work around raw meat
products, production equipment, and sanitation
chemicals.
Willingness to work flexible hours,
including evenings, nights, weekends, overtime, shutdowns, and
emergency call-outs when required.
Required to
wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow strict
hygiene and sanitation procedures.
