CMP Group Ltd., a leading provider of Marine Products, Construction, and Industrial solutions is seeking a Mixed Metals Operator to join Delta, British Columbia location/team on a full-time permanent basis. The Mixed Metals Operator will produce quality non-ferrous gravity castings as specified by CMP drawing and work instructions.

Duties and responsibilities

Loads, and controls operation of the melt furnaces.

Alloying metals as required

Set-up and pre-heat of casting moulds

Set-up and pre-heat of inserts as required

Pouring molten metal into casting moulds

Skim castings and furnaces minimizing dross and slag

Stamping lot numbers into castings

Removing casting from moulds

Packaging castings as required

Fabrication of inserts, cutting and pressing, as required

Maintaining a clean work area

Safety

Follow CMP safety rules and guidelines

Promotes safe work practices as outlined in the Worksafe B.C. regulations.

Uses of appropriate PPE according to the task performed

Requirements

1 year of experience in melt furnace operation/as a mixed metal operator or in a similar role

1-year experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

1 year of experience using hand and power tools

Comfortable working in a hot environment,



in alloying metals and pouring molten metal into casting moulds

Comfortable working in a labour-intensive environment while standing for most of the day, performing repetitive tasks and lifting with no restrictions

Participates in daily crew talk meetings

Completed Grade 12 or equivalent

Valid Forklift Operators license, an asset

Comfortable following the process, adaptable and versatile to work different shifts

Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and good dexterity

Occupational First Aid Attendant certified (asset), or willingness to get certified and take any additional training/courses as required

Hours

Monday to Friday

Day shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
