As part of our continued growth, we are hiring a MSB & Currency Exchange Manager to lead and expand our currency exchange operations.

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced, performance-driven MSB & Currency Exchange Manager to oversee and strengthen our two-site currency exchange operations in Windsor, Ontario. Our locations are strategically positioned at a high-volume international border crossing, serving travelers, commercial clients, logistics operators, and cross-border businesses.

This leadership role combines business expansion, FINTRAC regulatory compliance, and operational management. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding services, increasing client acquisition, and identifying ancillary revenue opportunities, while ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth, Expansion & Revenue Development

- Develop and execute strategies to increase transaction volume, revenue, and market share.
- Identify and implement ancillary revenue opportunities, including expansion into services such as:
- Cheque cashing services
- Multi-currency exchange and inventory optimization
- EFTs, wires, money transfers, and remittances
- Cryptocurrency buy/sell services (where permitted and compliant)
- Precious metals (ie. gold and silver) transactions




- Lottery and regulated retail financial products
- Prepaid cards and related financial services
- Product expansion – souvenirs, confectionary, and other
- Establish and manage relationships with cross-border businesses, comuters, logistics companies, and commercial clients.
- Analyze currency flows, market demand, and border traffic to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor KPIs, financial performance, and operational efficiency to ensure profitability.
- Evaluate and implement current products, pricing strategies, and service offerings.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

- Ensure full compliance with FINTRAC regulations and all applicable MSB, AML, and ATF requirements.
- Maintain and enhance AML/ATF compliance programs, policies, and internal controls.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Large Cash Transaction Reports (LCTRs).
- Manage internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance monitoring.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting in accordance with regulatory standards.

Operational Leadership

- Oversee daily operations across both locations.
- Implement operational controls, risk management procedures, and quality assurance processes.
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff to meet operational and compliance standards.
- Manage currency inventory, liquidity, banking relationships, fund transfers between locations, ordering funds, etc.




- Ensure operational efficiency, security, and regulatory adherence.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience in financial services, MSB operations, or compliance will also be considered.

Experience & Knowledge (Mandatory)

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Money Services Business, currency exchange, financial institution, or regulated financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of FINTRAC regulations, AML/ATF compliance, and MSB regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience driving business growth, expanding services, and increasing revenue.
- Strong operational leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and compliance administration capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience managing a currency exchange or financial services operation.
- Knowledge of cross-border CAD/USD currency markets, other currencies and liquidity management.
- Experience implementing or managing ancillary MSB services such as cheque cashing, remittances, crypto services, or precious metals.
- Experience building partnerships and expanding financial service offerings.
- CAMS certification or equivalent AML/compliance certification is considered an asset.
