Key responsibilities include coordinating shipments, building relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, and maintaining a database of providers during our peak season (September - March).Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Transportation Coordinator (Seasonal) has the following key responsibilities:Book inbound and outbound shipments in a high-volume office with multi-location shipping pointsForge effective relationships with carriers to move shipments to customersEffectively negotiate rates and service requirementsResearch and maintain a comprehensive data base of transportation providersIdentify opportunities for cost savings in rates to create a competitive advantageKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:Two (2)



or more years’ experience in logistics and transportationProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsIn-depth knowledge of Canadian and US carriers, the transportation corridors and highway infrastructure including basic laws of trucking and border crossingStrong knowledge of North American geographyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyMust be able to work onsite in office, flexible hours during our peak season (September to March)Reports toTraffic & Transportation ManagerThe expected hourly rate for this position is $20.00 - $28.00 CAD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location. This position is for an existing vacancy. We do not require Canadian work experience.
