Key
Responsibilities Install, maintain,
inspect, and repair industrial plumbing and piping
systems.
Troubleshoot water supply, drainage,
sewer, hot-water, steam, compressed-air, and process-water
systems.
Repair and replace pipes, valves,
pumps, fixtures, backflow-prevention devices, and related
equipment.
Respond promptly to leaks,
blockages, equipment failures, and other urgent maintenance
issues.
Perform preventive and corrective
maintenance according to established
schedules.
Read and interpret blueprints,
technical drawings, piping diagrams, and equipment
manuals.
Support plant renovation, equipment
installation, and continuous-improvement
projects.
Complete work orders and accurately
document inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenance
activities.
Work safely around production
equipment, chemicals, wet environments, and confined
spaces.
Follow all GMP, HACCP, food-safety,
sanitation, lockout/tagout, and company safety
requirements.
Coordinate maintenance activities
with production, sanitation, contractors, and other
trades.
Maintain tools, parts, and work areas
in a clean and organized condition.
Participate
in the plant’s after-hours or emergency call-out rotation when
required.
Perform other maintenance duties
within the scope of the
position.
Qualifications Valid
Journeyperson Plumber certification; Red Seal endorsement is
strongly preferred.
Previous industrial
plumbing experience is required; food-processing or meat-production
experience is an asset.
Experience working with
stainless-steel piping, process-water, steam, drainage, and
compressed-air systems is preferred.
Ability to
read technical drawings, schematics, and
specifications.
Knowledge of applicable
plumbing codes and occupational health and safety
requirements.
Strong communication skills and
the ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance
team.
Physical and Work
Requirements Ability to lift and
carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk,
bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined
spaces.
Comfortable working in refrigerated,
warm, wet, noisy, and physically demanding
environments.
Ability to work around raw meat
products, food-processing equipment, and sanitation
chemicals.
Willingness to work flexible hours,
including evenings, nights, weekends, overtime, and emergency
call-outs when required.
Required to wear
appropriate personal protective equipment and follow strict hygiene
and sanitation procedures.
