The City of Thompson is seeking a Utility Clerk. The role involves ensuring timely quarterly water readings, preparing and distributing utility invoices and statements, and maintaining utility accounts. Responsibilities include expediting outstanding receivables, preparing work orders, and balancing the utility sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly. The position also requires job-related typing and filing, assisting with policy and procedure manuals, and filling in for the Receivables Clerk when needed. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Grade 12 Education or equivalent.

Completion of recognized accounting course or equivalent training and experience, previous use of Microsoft GP an asset, must be well organized.

Experience in the use of computers is required (word processing,



spread sheets and particularly the software applications of Microsoft Office. Experience with accounting software would be an asset.

Ability to meet tight schedules.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent public relations skills required.

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly changing situations.
