Join BCIT's School of Construction and the Environment as a full time Faculty specializing in Ironworking. Empower learners through rich experiences in both classroom and practical settings.
We are looking for a temporary, full-time Ironworker Faculty member to instruct students in a variety of ironworking techniques. Successful applicants will deliver engaging lessons while supervising hands-on shop work. You will be involved in the evaluation process and manage the curriculum effectively for optimal student learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and present lesson plans for classroom sessions
• Provide shop and lab instruction to enhance practical skills
• Monitor student performance and administer evaluations
• Oversee online curriculum and instruct using digital tools
• Collaborate with faculty to enhance program offerings
Requirements:
• BC Certificate of Qualification in Ironworking with Red Seal status
• Five years of hands-on trade experience
• Background in reinforcing and structural steel
• Experience in welding and mass timber is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and administrative skills
