Join the Government of Nunavut as a Full-Time Mental Health Consultant. This role is focused on providing mental health care and promoting wellness through a holistic, culturally relevant approach.
The position requires robust experience in counselling or trauma therapy, with a minimum of five years in the field. You will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to address mental health needs, conduct assessments, and develop client strategies. Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and implement client mental health care plans
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and mental exams
• Develop strategies for client self-efficacy
• Keep client records accurate and confidential
• Work collaboratively with community resources
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in social work or a related field
• Five years’ direct front-line counselling experience
• Knowledge of Inuit language and culture is ideal
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
• Experience in cross-cultural environments is an asset
