The Opportunity This position is based at our Ottawa office within the Point of Care Division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including Chemistry, Electrolytes, Hematology, Blood Gases, Coagulation, Endocrinology, Cardiac Markers, Neurology, and Informatics.
As an Engineer, Associate in the Product Engineering group your main responsibilities will include focusing on product yield and product related improvements.
What You’ll Do Responsible for planning and conducting small-size assigned projects requiring conventional types of plans, investigations and/or equipment.
Participate and/or assist other engineers/scientists in project tasks by applying standard engineering theories, concepts, and techniques.
Apply standard engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to interpret problems.
Create/modify designs, draw conclusions and recommend options for solutions.
Responsible for completing documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with business standards.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.
Understand and comply with applicable Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.




Responsible for implementing and maintaining effectiveness of Quality System.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Less than one year experience in an engineering role.
Undergraduate University Degree in Engineering or Science with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Co-op and/or internship experience in a related field an asset.
Successful record of challenging Engineering/Science and related coursework.
Strong business/technical judgment and problem-solving skills.
Leadership skills demonstrated through extracurricular activities.
Self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must present a professional, positive image that reflects well on the company.
Ability to analyze and interpret data and document conclusions.
Analytical skills, creativity and innovative approach to problem solving.
Ability to determine required analysis to make practical, objective decisions about the best solutions to problems.
Coordinating and planning skills, leadership and team skills, ability to convert strategy into results.
Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; able to deal effectively with people on all organizational levels and work in a team environment across departments.
Experience with SAS JMP, Minitab, PowerBI, six sigma an asset.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $59,250.00 to $86,900.00 CAD.
The base pay for this position is N/A In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
