POSITION: Itinerant Music Teacher
ASSIGNMENT: Music - Elementary (K-7)
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: District Administration Office
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2026 and continuing
Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch AND possesses one or more of the following:
Training Specifications: Elementary Education with major/minor in music
Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience as an Elementary Music Teacher
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other qualified staff




Additional Qualifications:

Training/skill in the Kodaly method and/or the Orff approach to music instruction

Strong singing skills

Other:
Own transportation for travel between schools is necessary - mileage reimbursed as per the Collective Agreement

The annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
