WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

We are looking for a Production Supervisor for our CertainTeed Oakville Finishing Plant. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success!

Job Summary The Supervisor, Production Finishing will oversee all hourly production workers at the Oakville Finishing Plant. This position will manage shift loading and manpower allocation in the production operations to achieve all production, quality, and customer service requirements. This will be performed while upholding CertainTeed’s absolute commitment to safety.

In addition to managing production operations, the Supervisor will leverage WCM tools and continuous improvement methodologies to motivate, engage, and develop hourly production employees. Through active employee involvement, coaching, and structured problem-solving, the Supervisor will drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Openly and honestly communicate with all employees to build trust and effective teamwork.
- Encourage employee involvement in achieving shared objectives.
- Monitor production process and product quality to ensure correct procedures are followed.
- Oversee the completion and accuracy of daily production reports.
- Schedule all employees' training and maintain the training matrix.
- Evaluate sources of equipment problems (troubleshooting) and implement countermeasures.
- Utilize World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques to achieve targets and KPI’s.
- Maintain good labour relations and provide fair and balanced performance feedback.
- Assist in the administration of the Collective Agreement.
- Assist the Quality Lab Technician in all quality testing as needed.
- Adopt VMVO in his/her daily activities.
- Provide backup production entry when the primary is away from the plant.
- Other duties as required.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

- College diploma in a related discipline is required.
- Bachelors of Engineering or related discipline (asset).
- 3 to 8 years’ experience within a unionized manufacturing facility.
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills are required.
- Robust knowledge of applicable computer/software skills gained within a computerized production and shipping environment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Excel and PowerPoint
- Solid aptitude and ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong time management, analytical, and multi-tasking coping skills.
- Creativity to solve problems and improve processes.

Working Conditions

- Production runs 24 hours,



5 days a week, Monday to Friday.
- Requires to rotate on a bi-weekly basis to support all shift startups:
- 10am to 6pm (two weeks)
- 6pm to 2am (two weeks)

- Works in a manufacturing plant environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; sit; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; working on a computer; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.

Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $70,500 and $90,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $76,845 to $98,100.
